Disclaimers

Natural stone is a product of the earth, and with that comes inherent beauty and variation. Each tile is unique and no two pieces are ever identical in color, tone, veining, or texture. Due to this, images and product samples are provided as close visual representations, but cannot guarantee an exact match to the material received.

Field, trim, and mosaic pieces may vary slightly in finish or dimension due to the natural characteristics of marble and the fabrication process. Zavora Tile reserves the right to update product specifications, finishes, and availability without prior notice.

Marble tiles are subject to natural variation in color, shade, veining, surface texture, and finish. Prior to installation, your installer must blend materials from multiple cartons to achieve a balanced aesthetic and even distribution of variation. A dry mock layout under project lighting is strongly recommended before setting.

It is the responsibility of the consumer and installer to inspect all materials prior to installation. Once installed, the material is considered accepted as delivered and Zavora Tile will not issue refunds or returns on the material.

For all installation, care, and maintenance details, refer to the latest TCNA Handbook, ANSI standards, and Zavora Tile’s official care instructions. Warranty is void if materials are improperly installed, maintained, or used outside of intended applications.

For all natural stone tiles, installers should apply an appropriate penetrating sealer and/or grout release prior to grouting, and use a grout color that harmonizes with the predominant tone of the stone. Acidic or abrasive cleaners should never be used on polished, honed, or tumbled marble surfaces.

For floor installations, the maximum allowable offset is 33%, and the minimum grout joint is 3/16 inch. The use of a professional tile leveling system is highly recommended to ensure a precise and even installation.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Zavora Tile products are not recommended for pools, spas, submerged areas, or continuously wet environments.

Care Instructions

Zavora Tile - Marble Care & Maintenance

Real natural stone deserves real care. Marble and natural stone surfaces will age gracefully, preserving their elegance for decades, so long a s they are cared for properly.

1. Understanding Marble & Its Finishes

Marble is a natural stone composed of calcium carbonate, which makes it beautifully unique yet sensitive to acids and abrasion. Each finish type requires slightly different care:

Polished: A glossy and reflective finish means it will be more resistant to moisture, but prone to etching and scratching.

Honed: A soft matte finish which hides etching better, but can absorb stains more easily.

Tumbled/Textured: An aged, natural finish with open pores and exposed veining requires more frequent cleaning and sealing.

2. Regular Care & Cleaning

Sweep or dust regularly using a soft brush or microfiber cloth to prevent grit from scratching the surface.

Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner — never use vinegar, citrus, bleach, or harsh chemicals.

Dilute cleaner as directed, wipe gently, rinse with clean water, and dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaks.

Blot spills immediately to prevent absorption or etching - do not wipe and spread.

Use rugs at entryways and felt pads under furniture to prevent scratching or abrasion.

3. Sealing & Resealing

All marble should be sealed with a penetrating, breathable stone sealer after installation and periodically thereafter.

Sealing frequency depends on usage, sealant type, and exposure but is typically every 6–12 months.

Test your seal by placing a few drops of water on the surface — if it darkens within minutes, it’s time to reseal.

For tumbled or textured finishes, consider a color-enhancing sealer if you want to enrich tone and protect pores.

Always allow proper cure time before cleaning or exposing to moisture.

4. Deep Cleaning & Stain Removal

For buildup or grout haze, use a non-acidic, stone-safe deep cleaner and a soft brush.

For stain removal, always consult an industry professional first. They will likely use a poultice (absorbent clay + cleaning agent) to draw impurities from the stone — allow to sit 24 hours, then rinse and dry.

If etching or dull spots occur, professional polishing or restoration may be needed to restore the finish.

5. Finish-Specific Guidance

Polished Marble: Avoid acids entirely, and dry surfaces after cleaning the to maintain sheen.

Honed Marble: More forgiving to etch marks but bust be sealed more frequently to prevent staining.

Tumbled Marble: Clean with care to remove debris from textured pores; reseal regularly for best protection.

6. Long-Term Preservation Avoid dragging heavy furniture or sharp objects directly across marble. Use coasters and trivets on countertops to prevent thermal shock or etching. Maintain a consistent cleaning routine and reapply sealer as part of your seasonal home care schedule. With mindful maintenance, your Zavora marble will remain a lasting reflection of timeless craftsmanship Zavora Tile is not responsible for any damage caused to the tile after you have received your order.
